Review and Selection of Conference Submissions

In order to ensure the reliability of the evaluation process, each abstract will be reviewed by designated members of the Scientific Committee, who will not have access to the name or any other identifying information of the author or authors, in the case of group submissions.

The evaluation process will take place in two phases (selection and ranking) based on the following criteria:
Abstract Eligibility Criteria (for inclusion or exclusion from the Conference Program)

  • Relevance to at least one of the conference thematic areas
  • Overall quality of the abstract (word count, structural coherence, proper use of concepts, editing and presentation)

Ranking Criteria for Eligible Abstracts for Inclusion in the Final Conference Program
Given the time limitations (regarding oral presentations) and limited space (regarding poster presentations), among the abstracts that meet the above criteria, those receiving the highest evaluation scores according to the following criteria will be selected for inclusion in the final Conference Program:

  • Theoretical foundation: adequate development and support of the topic, methodology applied
  • Clarity: clear presentation of the objective, methodology, and process
  • Contribution of the submission to advancing the understanding, prevention, and/or response to violence against minors.

More specifically

  • For research papers, the objectives (relevance to the understanding, prevention, and/or response to violence against minors), methodology, process, and conclusions will be evaluated.
  • In the case of intervention/program presentations, the evaluation will focus on the objective (regarding the need the intervention/program seeks to address), the implementation methodology, the clarity of the presentation of the services provided (in the case of interventions) and/or activities (in the case of programs), as well as the available evaluation data.
  • In the case of workshops, the learning objectives, the professional skills needs the workshop aims to improve, and the integration of interactive learning processes will be evaluated.
