Invitation

It is with great pleasure and honor that, on behalf of the organizing institutions, I welcome you to the 2nd International Conference entitled “Violence Against Minors: Interpretative Approaches, Prevention and Interventions,” which will take place on 9–11 April 2027 here.

The Conference is organized by the Society for Mental Health of Children and Adolescents, the Research Laboratory in Counseling, Psychosocial Support and Community Interventions, University of West Attica, and the Institute of Child Health, institutions that have consistently contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the strengthening of initiatives aimed at the protection and well-being of children and adolescents. The organization of this second conference follows the highly successful first conference held in 2024, which highlighted the importance of scientific collaboration and dialogue on the issue of violence against minors and confirmed the need for the continuation of such an initiative.

Violence against minors constitutes a complex and highly critical social and scientific issue, with significant consequences for the mental health, development, and social integration of children and adolescents. Understanding the multiple dimensions of this phenomenon, as well as developing effective prevention and intervention strategies, requires an interdisciplinary approach, systematic research, and meaningful collaboration among scientists and professionals from different fields.

Within this context, the Conference aims to serve as a platform for meaningful scientific dialogue and the exchange of knowledge and experience. Through presentations, poster sessions, and thematic workshops, distinguished scholars and specialized professionals from Greece and abroad will present contemporary research approaches, empirical findings, and best practices that contribute to the prevention and response to violence against minors. We are confident that the work of this Conference will contribute to strengthening scientific dialogue, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and highlighting innovative approaches for the protection of children and adolescents.

On this occasion, I would like to warmly thank you for your participation and contribution and wish you a productive and intellectually rewarding conference experience.
